About

44th Pl is the design studio of Mike Afsa. It was founded with the idea that a design practice can span a variety of media and tell a story along the way. The medium can be a website navigated by a familiar narrative or a short film that suggests quiet rebellion.

Mike Afsa currently lives and works in Los Angeles, California. He studied at California Institute of the Arts where he earned his BFA in graphic design. Since then he has worked on gaphic design, advertising and fashion projects in various scale and media for companies like TBWA/Chiat/Day, Quiksilver, Scion and Nixon.

In summer 2010, his short film, “Hints for Better Living," was selected to be part of the California Design Biennial 2010 at the Pasadena Museum of California Art. "Hints for Better Living" was also part of AIGA San Francisco's Design Short Film Festival 2008.
